We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our busy logistics hub in St. Louis, Missouri. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately documented, processed, and prepared for transit. Your duties will include verifying order details, packaging items securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. This position requires a strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of our outbound logistics. Safety is a top priority; therefore, adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices, is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and process outgoing orders for shipment.
- Package products securely and efficiently, ensuring they are protected during transit.
- Generate accurate shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain an organized shipping area and ensure all shipments are accounted for.
- Conduct final quality checks before items are dispatched.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Implement safe lifting techniques when handling packages.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE, including safety vests and gloves.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to lift and move packages of varying weights.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Commitment to consistently using mandated PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
