Join our team in Jacksonville, Florida, as a Receiving Clerk and play a vital role in managing the flow of goods into our distribution center. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, and properly documenting all received items. This role is fundamental to our logistics network, ensuring that our inventory is accurate and readily available. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure your safety and the safety of others. Training on safe lifting practices and material handling equipment will be provided. We emphasize a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of our warehouse operations. Key duties include:
- Unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect goods for damage and discrepancies.
- Verify received items against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any short shipments or overages.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away.
- Maintain a clean and safe receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with carriers and internal departments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of required PPE.
- Support the overall logistics flow by ensuring timely and accurate receiving processes.
This position involves frequent lifting of materials, often exceeding 50 pounds, and requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. A strong focus on safety and operational excellence is expected.
