We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our busy logistics hub in Houston, Texas. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately processing and preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring all documentation is complete and correct. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our shipping operations. You will be working closely with the warehouse team to coordinate the timely dispatch of goods to our diverse customer base.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify shipment contents against orders and ensure proper packaging.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
- Operate shipping software and systems.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to ensure they meet shipping standards.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative role within logistics.
- Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
- Familiarity with Lifting requirements for packaging and palletizing.
- Knowledge of various shipping methods and carrier requirements.
- Willingness to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety.
