We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk to join our thriving logistics operations in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be integral to the outbound shipping process, ensuring that all orders are accurately prepared, documented, and dispatched. Key responsibilities include verifying shipment contents, generating shipping labels, packaging items securely, and coordinating with freight carriers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses excellent attention to detail, and can effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution setting is preferred, along with familiarity with shipping software and logistics. We maintain a strong emphasis on workplace safety, and all employees must adhere to established safety procedures, including the use of necessary PPE. This position requires the ability to handle packages and may involve occasional lifting. Become a critical link in our supply chain and contribute to seamless delivery operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify order details against packed items.
- Create and apply appropriate shipping labels and documentation.
- Package goods securely using suitable materials.
- Schedule and coordinate with shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized shipping records.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the shipping area is kept clean and orderly.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier platforms.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Capability to handle packages of various sizes and weights, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Dedication to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
