Opportunity for a Picker/Packer in the vibrant city of New York City, New York! In this fast-paced role, you will be a key player in our logistics operations, ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. Your primary duties will involve navigating the warehouse to pick specific items according to customer orders using electronic devices and lists. You will meticulously check items and quantities to ensure order accuracy. Following the picking process, you will expertly pack these items into appropriate shipping containers, ensuring they are safe for transit. Maintaining a safe and orderly work environment is essential. You must be committed to following all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves significant physical activity, including prolonged standing, walking, and the frequent Lifting of packages up to 35 pounds. We are looking for energetic individuals with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to teamwork. Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is a plus. We pride ourselves on efficient logistics and customer satisfaction, and your role is vital to achieving these goals. Training will be provided. Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify and retrieve items from warehouse locations based on order pick lists or RF scanner instructions.
- Perform quality checks on picked items for damage or discrepancies.
- Pack orders with care, selecting appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage.
- Seal, label, and stage packages for shipment according to established procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean picking and packing station.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
- Properly utilize all required PPE, such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation as directed.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding order status and potential issues.
- Meet individual and team productivity targets for picking and packing.
This position requires a high level of focus and accuracy. A background in logistics or a similar field is advantageous. The capacity for consistent Lifting is a necessary requirement.
