Join our team as a Shipping Clerk in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and be an integral part of our efficient logistics network. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing shipments. You will handle the preparation, labeling, and coordination of packages to ensure they reach their destination promptly and in perfect condition. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to operational excellence within our warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against shipping documents.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging items securely and accurately.
- Generate and apply shipping labels and documentation for various carriers.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update inventory systems.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure packages meet shipping standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely.
- Assist with inventory control and stock organization as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
Experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is beneficial. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and spending significant time on their feet. A strong understanding of shipping software and carrier systems is a plus. Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this role. Working Conditions:
