Embark on a career in logistics as a Material Handler at our bustling Jacksonville, Florida facility. This role is central to the movement and organization of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for efficiently moving materials from receiving to storage, and from storage to shipping areas. Key duties include operating various types of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks, to transport, load, and unload inventory. Accurate inventory placement and retrieval are paramount, requiring meticulous attention to detail. You will also assist with cycle counting and physical inventory audits. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is a top priority; adherence to all Safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to perform repetitive tasks and significant Lifting of items up to 70 pounds. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Accurately place materials in designated storage areas.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counting.
- Ensure all materials are handled according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all Safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of warehouse equipment.
- Ability to handle frequent and significant Lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
