Join our dedicated team as a Shipping Clerk in Des Moines, Iowa! We are looking for an organized and proactive individual to manage the efficient and accurate preparation of outgoing shipments. This role is critical to ensuring our customers receive their orders on time and in perfect condition. You will be responsible for verifying order accuracy, packaging products securely, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace are essential. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and pack orders according to shipping manifests and customer requirements.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against order details.
- Package products securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary documentation for carriers.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and tape machines.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.) for pickup schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Follow all company policies and Safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is beneficial.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including consistent Lifting of packages up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Proficiency with computers and shipping software is a plus.
- Must wear designated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety vests.
- Understanding of basic logistics and shipping procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
