We are looking for experienced Forklift Operators to join our vital logistics team in Washington, D.C. This position is critical for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including reach trucks and sit-down models, to load and unload materials, transport inventory, and stage shipments. A strong emphasis on safety, precision, and adherence to operational procedures is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven safety record and a thorough understanding of forklift operation and warehouse safety regulations. You will be expected to perform pre-operation checks on equipment, maintain a clean work area, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and potentially overtime during peak periods. All necessary PPE will be provided, and strict adherence to its use is mandatory. Your expertise in material handling will directly contribute to the success of our logistics network. We value reliability, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Load and unload products from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving personnel.
- Adhere to all logistics and operational procedures.
- Operate other warehouse equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating forklifts.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory systems.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE.
