Join our team in Detroit, Michigan as a Shipping & Receiving Associate. This multifaceted role is critical to our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods both in and out of the facility. You will be responsible for managing incoming shipments, verifying contents, and stocking items, as well as preparing outgoing orders for dispatch. Accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety are paramount. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage and accuracy.
- Stock received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety shoes and high-visibility vests.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in both shipping and receiving roles is highly desirable. Ability to perform physical tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Forklift certification is a significant plus. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics principles. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills for inventory management. Commitment to workplace safety and efficiency. Must be reliable and punctual.
Working Conditions:
This role is situated in a warehouse environment that may experience fluctuations in temperature and noise. The job requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for significant portions of the workday. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe workplace and provide thorough training on safety procedures and the correct use of PPE. Your contribution is vital to our operational success.
