We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. Your attention to detail will be paramount as you verify quantities, check for damages, and ensure that all delivered items match our purchase orders. This position is crucial for maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the smooth flow of goods into our warehouse. You will work closely with suppliers, delivery drivers, and internal teams to ensure all processes are followed efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming freight.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Accurately document all received items using our inventory management system.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Organize and stage received goods for efficient put-away.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Be prepared for tasks requiring significant lifting and physical coordination.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related warehouse role is preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and understand shipping documents and purchase orders. Proficiency in using basic computer systems and inventory software. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures is a must. Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial. We prioritize a safe work environment for all employees.
