Our busy shipping department in San Jose, California, is looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and prepared for transit. You will manage shipping labels, verify shipment contents, and coordinate with carriers. This role is vital for maintaining customer satisfaction and the integrity of our supply chain. A commitment to accuracy, organization, and workplace Safety is paramount. This position is a key element of our Logistics operations and requires attention to detail, along with the ability to handle physical tasks, including occasional Lifting . You must wear the appropriate PPE at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Process all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Generate and apply shipping labels using company systems.
- Verify order details against shipment contents before dispatch.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and tape machines.
- Ensure packages are properly secured and packaged for safe transit.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear all required PPE , including safety shoes and vests.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting of packages up to 40 lbs.
- Assist in organizing the shipping area and maintaining inventory of shipping supplies.
- Understand basic Logistics principles and shipping regulations.
- Reconcile shipping logs with actual shipments.
- Contribute to a positive and productive shipping team environment.
