ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re hiring a skilled and proactive Project Manager to lead construction projects from planning through completion. In this role, you will collaborate with the site leadership team, you’ll lead all aspects of project delivery to achieve a high standard of project delivery and operations excellence through focus on quality, schedule, people leadership and financial management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Leadership
- Work with consultants, trades, vendors, and internal teams to define project requirements, sequencing, schedules, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate daily with Site Superintendents and Project Coordinators to ensure labour, equipment, and materials are in place to meet project schedules.
- Lead construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Communicate project updates, expectations, and risks clearly to all stakeholders.
- Support tendering, negotiations, and procurement with estimators and senior leadership.
- Manage project finances, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost control.
Project Execution & Administration
- Lead project meetings and provide regular reports to executives, clients, and stakeholders.
- Maintain and update project schedules, milestones, and documentation.
- Resolve site issues efficiently and support the team as challenges arise.
- Oversee change orders, RFIs, POs, and project records.
- Review invoices, progress claims, and quantity take-offs for accuracy.
- Coordinate permits, approvals, submittals, shop drawings, and equipment deliveries.
- Manage project close-out activities.
Safety & Leadership
- Promote and uphold safety standards across all project activities.
- Lead by example with a strong focus on quality, safety, teamwork, and professional relationships.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with previous experience delivering multi-family, mixed-use developments, low and mid-rise developments.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
- Strong familiarity with occupational health and safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams, foster collaboration, and work closely with site crews, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to drive project outcomes.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, process improvement, and decision-making under pressure.
- Proficient in construction-related software and digital project management tools.
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management or a related field is considered an asset.
