About the Company:

Our client, a well-established and respected law firm located in North Toronto, is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and is looking to work with a collaborative, high-performing group of lawyers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a broad range of commercial litigation files with minimal supervision, including contract disputes, shareholder disputes, professional liability, construction claims, and other complex business matters.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, factums, and correspondence.
  • Represent clients in all stages of litigation including discoveries, mediations, motions, pre-trials, arbitrations, and court hearings.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and develop effective litigation strategies tailored to corporate and commercial clients.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court staff.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current with developments in commercial litigation, case law, and procedural rules.


Qualifications:

  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • 3+ years of post-call experience in Commercial Litigation .
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario court procedures, Rules of Civil Procedure, and commercial litigation practice.
  • Proven ability to manage complex files independently.
  • Excellent advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Organized, responsive, and able to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
