About the Team:
Our Data Lake Engineering Team operates at the heart of Walmart/VIZIO's data strategy, focusing on building scalable data solutions and pipelines. We are committed to leveraging advanced data techniques to unlock business value, drive innovation, and support decision-making across the organization. In this role, you'll play a critical part in enhancing our data infrastructure and delivering high-performance data solutions. What You'll Do:
Design and implement ETL processes for data integration. Manage and optimize data pipelines for analytics and operational use. Develop and maintain data models and schemas. Utilize SQL, Python, and big data tools to transform and analyze data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven projects. Ensure data quality and governance standards are met. What You'll Bring:
Proficiency in Python, Pyspark, SQL, and/or Scala. Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases. Expertise in AWS cloud services and data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow. Knowledge of big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka. Strong understanding of data formats like Avro, Parquet, and JSON. Hands-on experience in full-stack web development and REST APIs. A BS or MS in Computer Science or a similar relevant field. 5+ years of experience in data engineering and cloud-based ecosystems. Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field. Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related field. Option 3: Master's degree in Computer Science and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related field. 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics. Preferred Qualifications:
Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, ETL tools and working with large data sets in the cloud, Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years' experience in software engineering. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
