HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic or 3rd+ Year Apprentice (308A)

This is a full-time position (40+ hours/week) for a ticketed 308A HVAC sheet metal mechanic or a minimum 3rd+ year HVAC sheet metal apprentice, working in the Sudbury and surrounding areas. The successful proponent will assist in the installation of HVAC systems, ducts, and sheet metal components at a commercial & industrial level. Daily tasks will include duct work fabrication, installation of duct systems in both new construction and renovation situations, as well some finishing (flashing) metal work. Mechanics will be expected to oversee and train their assigned apprentices and labourers while working to maintain progress on their assigned job site with minimal oversight. The ability to liaise with their manager and site GC/client as necessary to keep the project moving forward in an orderly fashion is considered a requirement. Apprentices applying will be expected to work under the supervision of experienced technicians to gain practical knowledge and skills in the HVAC trade and will be expected to attend the required remaining levels of schooling during their apprenticeship.

Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of plumbing/HVAC systems considered a plus

• 308A sheet metal trade ticket or a minimum 3rd+ year sheet metal apprentice

• Ability to read, understand, and follow directions and project drawings/specifications considered a must

• Willingness to learn and work hard

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required

• Physical ability to perform lots of manual labor, mostly over head
