We’re excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as Lead Welder/Fitter . This role offers the chance to make a strong impact by leading welding activities, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring high-quality fabrication using CWB-certified MIG and TIG processes.


Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading day-to-day welding and fitting activities on custom fabrication projects.
  • Performing high-precision MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials.
  • Reading and interpreting complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
  • Fitting, assembling, and welding components to exact specifications.
  • Training, guiding, and supporting junior welders and apprentices.
  • Inspecting completed welds and ensuring compliance with CWB standards and shop quality procedures.
  • Coordinating workflow, setting priorities, and assisting the shop supervisor with planning.
  • Operating fabrication equipment such as saws, torches, grinders, and overhead cranes.
  • Working with the engineering and production teams to resolve fabrication challenges.


Mandatory Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Welder/Fitter in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • CWB-certified MIG and TIG welding experience (valid or recently expired tickets).
  • Strong fitting skills with the ability to work from detailed drawings.
  • Proficiency welding stainless steel and carbon steel.
  • Ability to lead by example, mentor others, and maintain high workmanship standards.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.


Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working on custom fabrication, pressure vessels, frames, or structural components.
  • Ability to fabricate with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with layout, tack-up, and weld sequencing.
  • Overhead crane and forklift experience (certifications an asset).
  • Ability to assist with estimating, workflow planning, or shop coordination.


Location: Oakville, Ontario

Salary Range: $40-44/hr
