Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager, Construction supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of multi-family projects from preconstruction through occupancy. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, consultants, and trades, this role helps maintain project schedules, track budgets, manage documentation, and ensure smooth communication between office and site teams.

Acting as a central point of coordination, the Assistant Project Manager ensures all project activities align with design intent, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting the successful execution of Alabaster’s multi-family developments—helping deliver projects that reflect our commitment to quality, community, and craftsmanship.


Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of multi-family construction projects from preconstruction through occupancy.
  • Assist with procurement and tendering, including preparing bid packages, reviewing subcontractor proposals, and issuing contracts and purchase orders.
  • Track project schedules and milestones; coordinate deliverables between site teams, consultants, and trades to maintain progress and resolve issues promptly.
  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project scope and budget.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation including meeting minutes, correspondence logs, progress reports, and cost tracking records.
  • Support budget management through cost monitoring, change management, and progress claim reviews.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration among project stakeholders—consultants, trades, site staff, and clients—to ensure efficient information flow and problem-solving.
  • Participate in quality control, safety coordination, and close-out processes to ensure successful project turnover and client satisfaction.

Other duties and responsibilities as required in accordance with the needs of the business.


Who You Are

  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination or construction administration, ideally within multi-family or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, drawings, and documentation workflows.
  • Proficient with project management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.
  • Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work visa).


Total Compensation Package

  • Base annual compensation ranging from $75,000 to $85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Vacation & Time Off Package.
  • Extended Health & Dental Benefits upon successful completion of a mandatory three-month probationary period.


This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to grow with Alabaster’s expanding construction team.
