Job Summary

The Product Manager for Cloud Services is a strategic role within the Technology team, responsible for overseeing the design, development, and continuous improvement of our cloud service offerings. This role manages the product backlog, drives product strategy through business analysis, and conducts competitor research to ensure our services remain competitive and aligned with market demands. The Product Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and execute a product roadmap that aligns with sales goals and ensures an optimal customer experience. This position serves as the primary contact between development, sales, and product marketing teams, setting clear expectations for product performance and establishing benchmarks for service adoption and revenue growth.

  • Builds trusted advisor relationships with managers, subject matter experts and leaders across Lorex

Duties & Responsibilities:

Project Management and Backlog Ownership (25%)


Own and manage the product backlog for cloud services, aligning it with business goals and product strategy to maximize customer value and profitability.

Define timelines, set project milestones, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of product features.

Ensure that development resources are aligned with project priorities, tracking progress and addressing any roadblocks to maintain project timelines.

Regularly review and adjust project plans to reflect changes in business priorities, customer needs, and market opportunities.


Business Analysis & Market Research (30%)

Maintain a strong understanding of cloud service trends, customer expectations, and the competitive landscape, sharing insights with product and sales teams to drive strategy.

Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify growth opportunities, customer needs, and product gaps in cloud service offerings.

Lead competitor analysis to evaluate strengths and weaknesses of competing services, identifying market trends and industry benchmarks to inform product strategy.

Develop business cases for new features, enhancements, and service expansions, balancing development investment with projected return on investment (ROI) and market potential.


Product Development & Roadmap (25%)

Collaborate with development teams to design and build cloud solutions that meet customer demands for performance, scalability, and security.

Develop a clear and actionable product roadmap, setting milestones and aligning development efforts with long-term product goals and revenue targets.

Work closely with design teams to create user-friendly interfaces and experiences, ensuring ease of use and strong customer adoption.

Coordinate with sales and product marketing teams to develop product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and promotional materials that highlight the unique value of our cloud services.


Sales Alignment & Performance Tracking (20%)

Set clear expectations for sales targets and customer acquisition, working closely with sales leadership to drive the success of cloud service offerings in the market.

Establish product performance metrics (e.g., conversion rates, customer satisfaction scores) and regularly review product performance to ensure it aligns with business goals.

Collaborate with sales teams to gather feedback on customer experiences and adjust product strategy accordingly.

Monitor customer feedback and market reception, making adjustments to the product roadmap as needed to maintain competitiveness and customer satisfaction.




Requirements:

  • Contribute to the improvement of customer satisfaction metrics for their assigned products
  • Contribute to an increase in the frequency of releases by leading effective sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Ensure alignment of business value with product delivery
  • Continuous grooming of the product backlog in alignment with business objectives
  • Clearly defined user stories with well-articulated acceptance criteria


  • Background Experiences
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field combined with at least3-5years experience as a Software developer, QA, UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • 5+ years of experience in a software development environment
  • Experience conducting competitor and market analysis to shape product strategy.
  • Experience working in the CE, IoT or other technical consumer-focused industry would be an asset
  • Experience documenting requirements in Confluence Wiki or similar tools
  • Experience with JIRA or similar bug tracking tools
  • Aptitude for learning, understanding, and applying new concepts
  • Knowledge of product management concepts is an asset
  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic/experience requirements
  • Fluency in Mandarin is required

  • Normal indoor office environment
  • Required to adjust hours to meet work demands, including occasional peak periods during which it is required to work evenings or weekends
  • Work does not normally require travel; however, there may be an occasional requirement to travel to other locations
