Research Engineer (ML Infrastructure)

Research Engineer - Python/ML Infrastructure/DevOps - Hybrid - $140k CAD

As a Research Engineer, you will join an extremely high performing team in the R&D division of a multinational conglomerate, who develop market leading AI solutions into a plethora of vertical markets. You will work in a team that takes models from proof of concept into deployment for clients within the legal sector. This role forms a pivotal intersection the deployment process, of building infrastructure and building the software around the ML deployment process.

Responsibilities

• Applying modern software development practices, you will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, building, testing and delivering high-quality solutions.
• You will create large scale data processing pipelines to help researchers build and train novel machine learning algorithms
• Building infrastructure that provides the systems, tooling, automation, compute, storage, and monitoring needed to take a model all the way from prototype, deployment, and continuous improvement and delivery

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Python
• 2 years of experience in ML, including MLOps & ML infrastructure
• Experience with language models (NLP, IR, LLMs, RAG, NER)
• experience in ETL/ELT & building scalable pipelines
• experience in building CI/CD pipelines
• experience with DevOps practices
• experience with Git, GitHub actions, etc
• experience within a research or academic setting
