We are looking for a dedicated Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing all outbound shipments from our facility. Your role is critical in ensuring that orders are accurately documented, prepared, and dispatched efficiently to meet customer delivery timelines. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with various teams to ensure a seamless shipping process, from order verification to carrier coordination. We prioritize workplace safety, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be proficient with shipping software and documentation, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of handling the physical demands of the role, which may include lifting. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Ensure all outgoing orders are accurately packed, labeled, and staged for shipment.
- Inspect packages for damage or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the inventory management system.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) and external partners (e.g., carriers, customers).
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining an organized and safe shipping area.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and perform occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
