Our Los Angeles, California facility is seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage the dispatch of goods. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. As a Shipping Clerk, you will prepare shipping documents, coordinate with carriers, stage outgoing orders, and maintain organized shipping records. A strong emphasis is placed on Safety, and all team members are required to follow strict protocols, including the proper use of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy against shipping manifests.
- Stage orders in the designated shipping areas, ensuring proper organization.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging standards are met.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts, as needed.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the tracking information in the system.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse functions as needed to support overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety best practices and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
