About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team in a temporary role (for approximately 4 months). This role offers an excellent opportunity for a CO-OP student or new grad to gain hands-on experience in various HR administrative functions and contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role requires occasional in-office attendance based on business needs; therefore, candidates must reside within approximately 50 km of our Mississauga office and have reliable transportation to commute when needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare letters of employment and leave of absence (LOA) letters.
  • Assist with preparation of T2200 forms.
  • Assist with work permit tracking for compliance purposes.
  • Upload employment agreements and related documents into Workday.
  • Support the onboarding team with Canadian new hire verifications.
  • Update and maintain the benefits portal.
  • Assist with processing terminations in Workday and other administrative tasks related to offboarding.
  • Organize and tidy up HR SharePoint site for better accessibility.
  • Perform other ad hoc HR administrative tasks as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or newly graduated from a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to Multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to stay focused working on highly repetitive tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be flexible as well as work independently
  • Familiarity with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and SharePoint is an asset.
