Our growing logistics operation in Huntsville, Alabama, is looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain precise inventory levels. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to operational excellence. You will play a vital role in preventing stockouts, reducing overstock, and ensuring the integrity of our inventory data, which is crucial for efficient warehouse management. The successful candidate will contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular physical inventories and cycle counts with a high degree of accuracy.
- Investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to maintain inventory integrity.
- Managing inventory adjustments, transfers, and returns within the WMS.
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying items needing replenishment or those in excess.
- Ensuring proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space and accessibility.
- Identifying and segregating damaged, expired, or obsolete stock according to company procedures.
- Collaborating with receiving and shipping departments to resolve stock-related issues.
- Contributing to process improvements for inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Adhering strictly to all safety protocols, including the use of required PPE.
- Supporting other warehouse functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in inventory management or warehousing is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Capability for manual tasks, including regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding and adherence to safety standards and the use of PPE.
