Are you a detail-oriented individual with experience in warehouse operations? We are hiring a Shipping & Receiving Associate for our facility in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical for managing the flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. You will be responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and coordinating with carriers for pickups and deliveries. Your efficiency and accuracy in this role directly contribute to the overall success of our Logistics operations. We emphasize a culture of Safety and provide the necessary tools and training to succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight, verifying counts and checking for damage.
- Process and document outgoing shipments accurately.
- Maintain organized and efficient storage of goods in the receiving and shipping areas.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all warehouse Safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations required.
- Proficiency with shipping software and inventory management systems is desirable.
- Forklift certification is a significant advantage.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to perform Lifting of heavy items, up to 60 lbs.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Logistics and supply chain processes.
- Willingness to utilize appropriate PPE.
