Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy New York City, New York warehouse. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials, and support various warehouse operations. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to maintain a high standard of awareness and adherence to safety procedures. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trailers and containers with accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Follow all safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Utilize WMS to track movement of goods and update inventory records.
- Wear all required PPE, including hard hats and safety vests, at all times while operating equipment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks as required.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and inventory control.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Must be able to wear all necessary PPE comfortably.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
