We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments from our Chicago, Illinois facility. This critical logistics role involves preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and on time. You will play a key part in our supply chain, ensuring that products reach our customers efficiently and without error. This position requires strong administrative skills, a good understanding of shipping procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Verify shipment contents against order details and packing lists.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
- Communicate with warehouse staff to ensure timely preparation of outgoing orders.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Assist with receiving operations as needed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and the use of required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant experience preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative role within a logistics environment.
- Proficiency in shipping software and common office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to safety and proper handling procedures, including wearing PPE.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
