We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our fast-paced logistics department in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and compliantly. Your duties will include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, tracking shipments, and maintaining records. A strong attention to detail and a commitment to organization are crucial for success in this position. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy before dispatch.
- Inspect packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping software and utilize RF scanners.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics operations.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and using required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
