We are hiring a dependable Material Handler to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa! This position is essential for maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse. You will be responsible for the safe movement, stocking, and organization of materials and products. Tasks include loading and unloading shipments, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring inventory is stored correctly. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace safety; adherence to all safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move, stack, and organize inventory in designated warehouse areas.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding safety and material handling.
- Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational goals.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and material handling tasks, up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
