Join our dedicated team as an Inventory Control Specialist in Detroit, Michigan! This critical role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be tasked with conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and optimizing stockroom organization. Your work will directly impact our overall logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. This position requires a highly analytical mind, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations. Experience with inventory management software is essential. We are committed to a safe work environment, and all employees must strictly adhere to safety protocols and utilize required PPE. The ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs may be necessary. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize losses and errors.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient stock rotation and accessibility.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory storage locations.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics.
- Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and requirements for PPE.
- May require occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
