Clinical Data Analyst II
The Clinical Data Analyst II takes a lead role in the maintenance, analysis, support, and troubleshooting of analytics systems, dashboards, and reports used by clinical quality, regulatory, and performance improvement stakeholders. These systems are used to meet regulatory and business needs. Location: Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Orlando, FL Department: Quality Unit Type: Full-time (40 hours) Shift: Days (Monday - Friday) onsite. The Quality Department at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies provides direct oversight for performance improvement initiatives and is focused on Obstetrical, Gynecological, Newborn, and Neonatal measures. Each specialty (maternal, gyn, newborn & NICU) has individual performance improvement initiatives which are continuously measured. Variances and measurement results are monitored, and the team works closely with executive/nursing/physician leadership, risk management, clinical nurse specialists, and the clinical quality team to implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines to improve overall care to the patients we serve. Essential Functions Leads or participates in planning, installation, enhancement, and testing of analytics systems in collaboration with other Information Technology / Clinical Engineering (IT/CE) teams and/or external vendor. Conducts validation, end user testing, and impact analysis of system changes. Participates in the development and execution of functional system test plans and performs ongoing analysis of data specifications, and coordinates change requirements gathering and implementation as necessary. Performs data validation and integrity functions. Consults with quality and operations staff and leadership to define needs, develop analytics solutions, document technical specifications and requirements, and provide guidance for the optimal use of analytics resources. Analyzes data using mathematical principles or statistical approaches, to identify trends or relationships among variables, prepare analytic reports and presentations, and provide recommendations based on findings. Prepare large amounts of data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighting the raw data, for statistical modeling and graphic analysis, using statistical software packages. Collaborates with vendors to communicate organizational analytics needs, identify solutions, request product enhancements, and communicate and train customers to optimize utilization. In consultation with Clinical Staff, prepares a variety of complex to advanced custom reports using system vendor-supplied or supported tools or complex queries using tools like SQL, QlikView, and Microsoft Access to create clinical, quality, and operational metrics. Monitors system performance and reports problems to vendor and/or IT/CE application owners. Participates in complex troubleshooting and problem solving under the lead or in conjunction with vendor. Maintains system set-up, ensures accuracy and confidentiality of system data. Administers end-user security in accordance with IT/CE process and policy. Creates protocols for dictionary, table management and/or data entry to standardize processes. Qualifications
Education/Training Bachelor's degree required. Knowledge in one or more quantitative subject areas (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Psychometrics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Data Science) Knowledge of analytical or statistical software (SAS, SPSS, Minitab, JMP) required. Knowledge of business intelligence and data analysis software (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, Qlik Tech QlikView/QlikSense, Tableau) required. Knowledge of database user interface, query, and reporting software (Structured query language SQL, Microsoft Access) Knowledge of tools and techniques used in TQM/CQI/PI required Advanced PC literacy in query building, spreadsheet generation, graphics, data management, and word processing. Experience Five (5) years of healthcare experience with analysis and report generation of data required or three (3) years of experience with data management and statistical analysis. Requires thorough understanding of department specific data systems and technologies.
