Are you organized and attentive to detail? We're hiring a Receiving Clerk for our Detroit, Michigan facility. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing the initial stages of our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately recorded, inspected, and stored. Your duties will include unloading delivery trucks, verifying the contents of shipments against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and properly documenting all received items. Maintaining an organized receiving area is crucial for efficient operations. This role requires physical capability for moderate Lifting and a steadfast commitment to Safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). You will play a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the smooth flow of goods throughout our logistics operations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Unload and receive incoming shipments.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect items for damage and discrepancies.
- Document all received inventory accurately.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system.
- Organize and maintain the receiving area.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to relevant departments.
- Adhere to all Safety standards and wear required PPE.
- Support overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving or inventory control is advantageous.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Commitment to Safety and use of PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail.
