We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be instrumental in the smooth operation of our warehouse, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and prepared for distribution efficiently and safely. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other heavy equipment (after proper certification), and maintaining an organized and clean work environment. You will work closely with inventory management systems to track material movement and ensure accuracy. Strong attention to detail is crucial for identifying and reporting any discrepancies or damages. This position requires a commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including significant Lifting, is essential. We value teamwork and encourage open communication to resolve any challenges that may arise in our fast-paced logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and trailers.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Moving materials to and from storage areas.
- Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Adhering to all Safety protocols and guidelines.
- Performing regular equipment inspections.
- Assisting with inventory counts as needed.
- Ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner to support logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation.
- Commitment to Safety and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
