We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This crucial role involves managing the incoming flow of goods into our warehouse, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining organized records. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and properly logging all received items into our inventory system. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety and efficiency. You will work closely with our shipping and inventory departments to ensure a seamless supply chain operation.
Responsibilities:
- Unload trucks and containers efficiently and safely.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders, noting any discrepancies.
- Inspect incoming products for any damage or defects and report issues immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Organize and stock incoming inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs). Familiarity with warehouse equipment and systems is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced Logistics environment. A commitment to upholding high standards of Safety is paramount. Understanding and utilization of appropriate PPE is required at all times.
