We are seeking an experienced Reach Truck Operator to join our growing logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will play a vital role in efficiently managing our warehouse inventory, utilizing your expertise to move, store, and retrieve materials. Your responsibilities will include operating a reach truck to place and remove palletized goods from high-rise racking systems, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times. This position requires a deep understanding of warehouse operations, material handling best practices, and a strong commitment to safety, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to all operational guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of safe and efficient reach truck operation, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck to safely and efficiently move, stack, and retrieve inventory within the warehouse.
- Load and unload materials from trailers and storage locations.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of the reach truck and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning products and updating the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Organize and arrange stock within racking systems to optimize space utilization.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as required, such as order picking or cycle counting.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Collaborate effectively with warehouse supervisors and team members to achieve operational targets.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement in logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification and demonstrated experience operating a reach truck.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Reach Truck Operator in a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency in operating various types of warehouse equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with WMS and RF scanning technology is highly desirable.
