We are seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our inventory within our Detroit, Michigan facility. This crucial role supports our entire logistics operation by ensuring precise inventory counts, managing stock rotation, and implementing efficient inventory management procedures. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, optimizing warehouse layout for inventory flow, and coordinating with the receiving and shipping departments. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; we provide comprehensive training and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS/ERP system.
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and identify items for replenishment or disposal.
- Optimize warehouse layout to improve inventory accessibility and flow.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping teams to ensure accurate goods movement.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and logistics.
- Proficiency in WMS/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks involving some lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and PPE.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead initiatives.
