We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for all inbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper documentation. This role is crucial to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the smooth flow of operations within our distribution center. You will work closely with vendors, delivery personnel, and internal warehouse staff to manage the receiving process efficiently. Key responsibilities include unloading trucks, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, scanning items into the inventory management system, and preparing receiving reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding safety standards. Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Familiarity with basic computer systems and scanning equipment is a plus. Adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position involves moderate to heavy lifting, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Inspect goods for damage and verify against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Report any discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Organize and stage received inventory for put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
