We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is essential for ensuring that our products are correctly packaged, labeled, and dispatched to customers accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of shipping procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. You will be an integral part of our supply chain, managing the outbound flow of goods and coordinating with carriers. This position requires accuracy, speed, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and label outgoing orders for shipment.
- Verify shipping information against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL).
- Operate shipping software and ensure all shipments are properly tracked.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing products to ensure they meet standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all guidelines for Lifting and proper handling of packages.
- Support the logistics team by assisting with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carriers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 30-40 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
