Seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our essential logistics team in Atlanta, Georgia! If you have proven experience operating various types of forklifts and are committed to safety and efficiency, this role is for you. You will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise in our warehouse. Ensuring the safe and proper handling of materials is paramount. This position requires a keen understanding of warehouse operations and a dedication to maintaining a secure working environment. We expect all team members to adhere strictly to safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and to prioritize safe lifting practices. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials around the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping.
- Stack and position materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, keeping aisles clear and ensuring proper material storage.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff and logistics personnel.
- Follow all guidelines related to safe lifting and material handling.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and safety standards.
- Proficiency in recognizing different types of equipment and their proper use.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Physical stamina to perform the duties of the job, including standing and walking.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to operate heavy machinery, frequently climb on and off equipment, and perform occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Employees must maintain focus and adhere to all safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE, to ensure safety in our logistics operations. Proper lifting techniques are essential when not operating machinery.
