Join our team in Portland, Oregon, as a Receiving Clerk and play a key role in our distribution center. We are seeking an organized and efficient individual to manage the accurate receipt and processing of all incoming inventory. Your responsibilities will include inspecting deliveries, verifying shipments against orders, and maintaining detailed records. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity of our inventory and supporting the overall logistics operations. You will be expected to maintain a safe and tidy work environment, follow all established procedures, and communicate effectively with team members and external vendors. A strong focus on accuracy and a commitment to safety are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight and verify contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or overages and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the company's inventory management system.
- Stage goods for put-away or further processing according to established procedures.
- Ensure the receiving area is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of required PPE.
- Collaborate with inventory control and other logistics personnel to resolve issues.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as directed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and logistics.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
