We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in New York City, New York. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our facility. You will operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently. This position demands a high level of responsibility, precision, and adherence to strict Safety standards. You will work closely with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure timely order fulfillment and inventory accuracy. This role involves regular physical activity and may require Lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Strict compliance with all Safety regulations and the correct use of PPE is mandatory. This is a vital role within our Logistics network. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, store, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Stack and stage goods in designated areas.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Report any operational issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear all required PPE at all times.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors and management.
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid forklift operator certification/license. Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Thorough understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics . Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs. Deep knowledge of forklift operating procedures and Safety regulations. Must be proficient in wearing and utilizing all required PPE , such as safety shoes, gloves, and hard hats. Excellent hand-eye coordination, balance, and spatial awareness. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team. Reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong work ethic. Experience with various types of forklifts and their applications. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial. Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workplace Safety . Understanding of material handling best practices. Experience with OSHA regulations relevant to forklift operations. Proficiency in navigating complex warehouse layouts. Understanding of warehouse Logistics and efficient material flow.
