We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing outgoing shipments, ensuring all packages are correctly labeled, documented, and ready for carrier pickup. This position is crucial to our supply chain operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. You will work closely with warehouse staff, carriers, and customer service representatives to resolve any shipping-related issues. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success. This role involves moderate physical activity including frequent Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs. Adherence to all Safety protocols and proper use of PPE is mandatory. Understanding of shipping software and carrier portals is a plus. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within the Logistics industry. Responsibilities:
- Verify and record outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for package pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipping discrepancies or delays.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulations.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems. Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and proper use of PPE . Understanding of Logistics principles and best practices. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced Logistics environment. Knowledge of shipping regulations and documentation. Commitment to workplace Safety .
