RN First Assistant - Days Full-time at Providence Health and Services summary: The RN First Assistant (RNFA) at Providence St. Jude Medical Center is a full-time, day-shift nursing role focused on assisting surgeons during operative procedures and providing comprehensive perioperative patient care. The RNFA independently implements the nursing process, collaborates with the surgical team, and performs circulating or scrub duties when not assisting. Candidates must hold a California RN license, have perioperative nursing experience, and preferred qualifications include CNOR certification and prior RNFA training or experience. RN First Assistant (RNFA) within our Operating Room at Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. This position is Full-Time and will work 12-hour Day shifts. The Registered Nurse First Assistant independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for patient requiring surgical intervention. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patient's plan of care. The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) collaborates with the surgeon and the healthcare team to perform a safe operative procedure with an optimal outcome for the patient. This individual renders direct patient care as defined by the RNFA Standardized Procedure and maintains practice privileges through the Medical Staffing office. When not providing assisting services, the RNFA will perform circulating and/or scrub duties as assigned.
