Who we are
COHO Management Services Society is a non-profit property management company dedicated to supporting housing co-operatives across British Columbia. Since its founding in 1984 by the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC (CHF BC), COHO has been committed to supporting housing co-operatives through tailored, community first management services.
Our services are tailored to support in administration, governance, financial services and property management and maintenance. With a deep understanding of the unique needs of co-op living, we help housing co-operatives operate efficiently, remain financially sustainable and foster vibrant and inclusive communities.

What you'll do
As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be the first responder for urgent maintenance issues and a key player in keeping our client co-ops safe and functional. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Responding promptly to emergency maintenance calls and assessing the situation
- Performing hands-on repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building systems
- Coordinating with trades and vendors when specialized work is required
- Communicating clearly and professionally with residents and team members
- Maintaining accurate records and using mobile tools for reporting
- Ensuring compliance with COHO's key management and security protocols
- Traveling to client sites across the Lower Mainland to deliver timely service
- Upholding safety standards and minimizing disruption to residents
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum six months of maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of building systems and trouble shooting skills
- Ability to work independently under pressure
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, insured vehicle and Class 5 driver's license
- Own basic tools and secure storage for COHO property
- Familiarity with co-operative housing is an asset
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform labour tasks
- Comfortable working in varied environments, including confined spaces and adverse weather conditions

Conditions of employment
This position often requires flexibility to work outside of regular office hours (i.e. evenings). This position may be based on site in the office of multiple housing co-operatives with frequent activities and travel in and around the lower mainland.
The incumbent must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, as well as have the manual dexterity to type, and file documents. In addition, as required at co-op sites, the incumbent must be able to walk short distances/climb stairs.
