Banana Moon Moseley is a thriving nursery looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivational *Nursery Deputy Manager who will also take on the role of Room Leader*. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead a happy nursery where we focus on encouraging children to be children—learning through fun and engaging play.

*About the Role*
The *Deputy Manager* will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the overall day-to-day operations of the setting. You will be expected to assume full managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Manager and ensure the nursery maintains the highest standards of care, compliance, and learning outcomes.
In addition to deputy duties, you will take on the responsibility of *Nursery Room Leader*, managing a specific room within the setting. This includes leading a team of practitioners, ensuring outstanding practice, and creating a warm, welcoming, and stimulating learning environment for the children in your care.
You will also play a key role in *building and maintaining a positive team culture*, supporting and inspiring your colleagues to work together effectively, share best practices, and continuously improve.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Support the Nursery Manager in the effective running of the nursery.
* Lead by example to ensure high-quality care and early education is delivered.
* Take ownership of one of the nursery rooms as Room Leader, planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
* Foster a strong sense of *teamwork and collaboration* across the setting.
* Mentor and support room staff with their development and practice.
* Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and followed.
* Build strong relationships with children, parents, and the team.
* Support the nursery's compliance with OFSTED, health and safety, safeguarding, and all relevant legislation.
* Step into the role of Manager when required, including attending meetings, handling queries, and supporting operational decisions.
*Requirements*
* A full and relevant Level 3 qualification as outlined by the Children’s Workforce Development Council.
* Enhanced DBS Disclosure with the child workforce sector.
* Minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in an early years setting.
* Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management position.
* Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
* Excellent communication, *team leadership*, and organisational skills.
* A genuine passion for early years education and working as part of a supportive, close-knit team.
