We are seeking a *Pharmacy Manager* for a well-established, community-focused retail pharmacy *located near Winterset, IA, about an hour southwest of Des Moines.* This pharmacy is known for its welcoming environment and patient-first approach, averaging approximately 140 prescriptions per day—creating a steady yet manageable workflow. The operation primarily runs under single-pharmacist coverage with strong technician support and utilizes the ComputerRx pharmacy system.
As the only pharmacy in its immediate area, this location plays a vital role in local healthcare and serves a loyal, established patient base. The surrounding community offers a quieter, small-town lifestyle with strong schools, family-friendly living, and an active local business network. Residents have access to parks, walking trails, a fitness center, public swimming pool, golf and disc-golf courses, and county-supported health services. The area is characterized by rolling farmland and scenic rural views, ideal for those seeking balance outside of larger city environments.
*Compensation:*
* Hourly Wage: $70.00 – $78.00
* Sign-On Bonus: $30,000

*Facility Duties and Expectations: *
* Provide prompt and professional customer service and answer calls.
* Fill and verify prescriptions and counsel patients per OBRA ’90 regulations.
* Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and controlled substance counts.
* Coach and train staff.
* Administer immunizations safely and accurately.
* Research and verify medication and patient information.
* Maintain accurate records and follow all state, federal, and insurance regulations to ensure pharmacy compliance.

*Hours of Operation*
* Monday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
* Saturday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM _(Saturday closure under evaluation)_
* Sunday: Closed
* Closed on Christmas and federal holidays
*Manager Schedule*
* Every other Saturday, with one weekday off during Saturday weeks
* Double pharmacist coverage 1–2 days per week (typically Mondays)
*Required Qualifications: *
* Active Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing- Candidates actively pursuing Iowa licensure will be considered
* Immunization Certification
* BCLS or equivalent
