As a backend engineer with Delfina, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of critical features in the Delfina platform, including web backends, databases, data systems, monitoring, and reporting. Responsibilities: Design and develop distributed systems, data pipelines, and concrete API implementations to power the next generation of pregnancy care. Collaborate with the design and development team to translate product requirements into working code. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to industry best practices and coding standards. Collaborate with the frontend development team to integrate front end components with backend APIs. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in software development to propose and implement innovative solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, backend developers, and QC engineers. Take initiative to improve our systems by thinking about software architecture, security, documentation, or whatever else were working on -- Delfina is a startup, and were looking for engineers who are excited for new challenges. Qualifications: Strong proficiency in software development and distributed system design. Strong proficiency in a modern procedural programming language like Python, Java, or Go. Experience with and solid understanding of relational databases (Postgres or equivalent). Familiarity with version control systems (git and GitHub). Proficiency writing automated test suites and testable code. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred Qualifications: Professional experience as a software engineer in a similar role. Experience with enterprise-scale Python. Experience building data pipelines using Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or similar technologies. Experience with Google Cloud or another major cloud provider. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Prior experience in the healthtech industry or working on healthcare-related projects. Passion for addressing challenges in maternal health and contributing to solving the maternal health crisis. Compensation:
$130,000 - $155,000 per year (junior), $155,000 - $185,000 (mid-level). The base salary range for this full-time position in the United States represents a wide variety of factors, including location, skills, experience, education, and training. New hires who meet most of the qualifications above should expect to earn near the middle of the posted salary range. Benefits:
