Description

:The IT Director of Clinical Applications plays a critical role in leading the strategic planning, implementation, and management of a diverse portfolio of Clinical applications within the organization. This position requires a seasoned IT professional with a comprehensive understanding of business processes, coupled with expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The IT Director will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that align business applications with corporate objectives, ensuring the effective utilization of IT resources, and driving continuous improvement. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to enhance the overall effectiveness of clinical applications in supporting organizational objectives. The position works closely with fellow IT senior leaders to ensure the needs of the organization are met and sets strategy alongside executive leadership on current and future initiatives. This position is a critical leader to the IT department as well as the entire organization and as such works closely with other executives and managers across the organization to ensure that clinical applications are aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.

Education:

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare informatics, computer science, nursing, or a related clinical or technical field.
  • Experience:

  •  Required: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, including significant leadership responsibility in clinical application management. Demonstrated experience with large-scale EHR systems (Epic preferred), clinical workflow optimization, strategic planning, production support, and vendor management. Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical integration, interoperability, and emerging digital health technologies.
  • Skills:

  • Ability to develop and implement strategies that align clinical technology with patient care and organizational goals.
  •  Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of clinical application environments, particularly EHR platforms and their integration across departments.
  • Proven track record of successful system implementations, upgrades, and optimizations that improve clinical efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare IT standards, interoperability frameworks (HL7, FHIR, etc.), and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical and operational needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder management and collaboration across clinical, operational, and IT domains.
  • Vendor management and contract negotiation expertise.
  • Excellent communication and change management abilities to drive adoption and sustainment of clinical technology initiatives.
