Pathology Quality Assurance Coordinator Who is Hospital Pathology Associates?
Hospital Pathology Associates (HPA) provides pathology services to various healthcare organizations in Minnesota and Wisconsin and is Minnesotas largest pathology private practice. We have an ensemble of highly skilled, seasoned pathologists and professional staff with a wide range of expertise not often found elsewhere. Our experienced team of pathologists examines and assesses lab samples to help healthcare providers make a diagnosis and guide treatment. Lab samples, also known as biological specimens, are tissues or bodily fluids gathered during a medical appointment or lab visit. We care for patients behind the scenes in our laboratories. Position Overview
The HPA Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant serves a critical role in the QA program at HPA. Duties include information management, analysis of medical data contained in the hospitals Electronic Medical Record (EMR), or Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and physicians offices. This position works directly with the QA Coordinator and the Pathologist Director of Quality Assurance (PDQA) to help oversee the groups quality initiatives and Lean projects. Duties and Responsibilities Collect, analyze, and present medical data via Excel and the EMR (Epic) for quality control and pathologists data requests. Work directly with HPA QA Coordinator and PDQA to assist with quality improvement initiatives, Lean projects, and research projects. Responsibilities include collecting subspecialty data for diagnostic rates and outcomes, running EMR reports in Epic to aggregate and analyze data (e.g., certain diagnoses or specimens), updating internal practice management documents, supporting process improvement projects, and assisting with quality assurance goals and objectives as requested.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in life sciences, data analytics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a related field 1-2 years of experience in a related position is preferred Advanced proficiency in analysis techniques and related software tools Strong knowledge of medical terminology and communication skills Demonstrated problem-solving and process improvement skills Work and manage time efficiently in a team environment Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented
