ABOUT MÁS O MENOS

Opened in 2022, Más o Menos is a neighborhood bar with a serious coffee and cocktail program, thoughtfully made grab-and-go food, and a calendar full of events that bring a variety of people together. Our goal is simple: serve high-quality products with genuine hospitality, in a space that feels beautiful, welcoming and alive.

What truly sets Más o Menos apart is the people. Our staff is deeply connected—to one another, to the work, and to the community we serve. Since opening, we've grown steadily and intentionally, and the General Manager will be stepping into a well-established operation with a strong culture, clear identity, and room to continue shaping what comes next.  

We are looking for a General Manager to oversee daily operations, driving revenue, and leading our team of bartenders, baristas, and barbacks. Your ongoing responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Implement Standards of Service and Training Manuals
  • Develop and share weekly projections and budgets with leads
  • Approve all orders and ensure budget is met
  • Lead bi-weekly admin meeting with Leadership
  • Write Schedule based on labor budget and projections
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained for business levels and events
  • Process bi-weekly payroll
  • Follow through on staff performance updates from leads- perform coaching and writeup conversations with appropriate lead where necessary
  • Interview, hire and lead post-training recap conversation. 
  • Follow up with new hires at 30, 60 and 90 days to ensure they're learning, growing and meeting company expectations.
  • Lead monthly all-staff meeting with appropriate training to improve service, knowledge, hospitality and performance while building and centering a positive company culture that encourages growth and community.
  • Communicate with leads to support and ensure their weekly staff training are productive, growth-oriented and efficient. Follow up with leads post-training to understand what was accomplished. 
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key service providers and vendors, including electricians, internet and sound technicians, cleaners, builders, and specialty vendors (e.g., photo booth, food vendors). Maintain an up-to-date service roster and coordinate timely repairs and ongoing maintenance.
  • Possess a working, hands-on understanding of the space and its systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and address minor infrastructure or equipment issues as needed.   
  • Collaborate closely with the social media and creative teams to ensure brand voice, visual identity, and programming are accurately reflected in day-to-day operations, events, and guest experience. Serve as the on-site liaison, providing timely information, assets, and feedback to support effective storytelling and promotion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional guest experience, with the ability to balance the needs of a loyal local community while delivering a memorable, high-touch experience for first-time and destination guests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 2+ years of restaurant manager or F&B leadership experience
  • Strong business acumen, financial management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in training, coaching, and managing teams
  • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities. 

COMPENSATION

  • starting rate of $70,000/year
  • $250/month medical benefit stipend
  • 15 Annual PTO Days
